Paul Hoare
Psychologist
Paul will commence working from Lantern Psychology Centre in February 2026.
Paul has worked in the counselling field both locally and abroad for several years. His experience spans couples counselling, organising adventure therapy programs, and working with victims of trauma, grief and loss, addictions, and anger management.
He is passionate about men's issues and helping people through anxiety. Whilst being a very down to earth counsellor, Paul is also compassionate and non-judgmental in his approach to counselling. He is a strong believer in the impact that good therapy can have on people’s quality of life and is committed to helping his clients to attain these benefits.
His therapy approach begins with understanding his clients goals, both for the counselling process and for themselves. Therapy itself includes practical, person-centred and cognitive methods.
Paul has a Masters in Counselling, a Masters in Clinical Psychology, and level 2 Gottman Method couples therapist training.
Outside of therapy, Paul goes bushwalking, running or paragliding most days (if it's not too cold).
