About:
Par provides counselling for children from 5 years old, adolescents, young adults, and families. She supports young people who may be experiencing emotional, behavioural, developmental, social, or mental health challenges, and works collaboratively with parents and caregivers where appropriate. For children and teenagers, Par recognises that families often play an important role in supporting change, and she aims to provide a space where both the young person and their support system feel understood and supported.

Par has a rich educational background in Psychology, Human Biology and Physiology, Neuroscience, and Clinical Pastoral Care. She brings this knowledge into counselling in a compassionate, holistic, and evidence-informed way. Her work focuses on helping young people better understand their emotions, behaviours, nervous system responses, and coping patterns, while developing practical skills that support emotional regulation, confidence, resilience, and healthier relationships.

Her approach is person-centred, strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming, and trauma-informed. Par tailors counselling to each client’s age, developmental stage, personality, needs, and goals. She is passionate about making therapy feel approachable and meaningful for young people by using age-appropriate language, creative strategies, psychoeducation, and practical tools that can be used beyond the counselling room.

Par has experience working in hospital settings, acute psychiatric wards, early psychosis services, and community mental health settings. Through this work, she has supported individuals and families during some of their most vulnerable and challenging times. She brings warmth, sensitivity, and clinical understanding to her work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families.

Cultural sensitivity is at the heart of Par’s practice. She respects the diverse backgrounds, beliefs, family systems, identities, and lived experiences that each client brings. Her aim is to create a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental counselling space where young people and families can feel supported to explore challenges and build meaningful change.

Par works with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, stress related to school/study, life transition, friendship and relationship difficulties, family conflict, loss and grief, trauma and PTSD/cPTSD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), eating disorders, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

Fees:
Par's counselling services are not covered by Medicare/MHCP or DVA. Private Health Insurance is available (please check with your provider to ensure that counselling is covered on your plan). Sliding Scale pricing is available for NDIS participants who are either Plan Managed or Self-Managed.

You are welcome to book with Par privately, and the fees can be adjusted so your out-of-pocket cost is similar to the typical “gap” you might pay when seeing a psychologist under a MHCP (Mental Health Care Plan).

All prices can be found on Par's website.
