Julie Gonzalez

Provisional Psychologist

Julie is a provisionally registered psychologist who will be offering discounted sessions ($65-$85) for clients from July to December 2026 as part of her final supervised placement for the Master of Professional Psychology (MPP) at La Trobe University.

Julie also holds a Graduate Diploma of Psychology (Advanced) from Monash University and a Graduate Diploma of Psychology from Charles Sturt University.

Before moving to Australia 15 years ago and becoming an Australian citizen, Julie worked as a clinical psychologist in private practice in her native Mexico, supporting clients across the lifespan. Her training in Mexico includes a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology, an Advanced Diploma in Family Therapy and Systemic Configurations, and training in Group Analytic Psychotherapy.

Since settling in Australia, Julie has gained extensive experience working with primary school children, adolescents and young adults, including nine years with Headspace.

Julie is a warm, open and compassionate practitioner who is responsive to her clients’ individual needs. She is highly empathetic and genuinely committed to supporting the wellbeing of those she works with. Her therapeutic approach is tailored to each client's goals, values and circumstances.

She integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy and trauma-informed principles, while also drawing on the skills and perspectives developed through her earlier training and experience in Mexico.

Julie is fluent in both English and Spanish.
