Dr Megan Hansford

Clinical Psychologist

I am a Clinical Psychologist working primarily with adults and older adolescents, offering a calm, respectful, and non-judgemental space supporting clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences. Feeling understood and accepted is a vital part of the therapeutic process. I strive to create an environment in which clients feel safe, heard, and supported.

I work with clients facing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, emotional difficulties, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My approach is grounded in empathy and collaboration, recognising that each person’s experiences and needs are unique. I am a neurodivergent and gender affirming clinician experienced in working with both neurodiverse and LGBTIQ+ communities.

My therapeutic style is integrative and evidence-based, drawing from training in a range of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-informed practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Schema Therapy approaches. Sessions allow space for reflection, emotional processing, and gradual change.

I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Monash University where I started my clinical training and undertook research into socio-cultural factors impacting trauma responses in adults. I have experience working in private practice, public and community mental health and hospital outpatient settings.

My aim is to support clients in developing greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and resilience, while empowering them to move toward a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
