Clinical Psychologist
Brigette (she/her) is a neurodivergent clinical psychologist who enjoys working with young people and adults using a trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and gender-affirming approach. Brigette aims to be a respectful, compassionate, authentic and knowledgeable clinician who walks alongside people to meet their goals.
Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, chronic pain, Functional Neurological Disorder, anxiety and mood disorders, disordered eating, grief and loss, and post-traumatic stress.
Brigette provides evidence-based therapy using a formulation-driven approach informed by Pain Neuroscience Education (PNE), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Unified Protocol (UP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Brigette also draws on knowledge of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-informed CBT, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), and attachment-based interventions in her practice.
Brigette graduated with a Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2022 from the Australian National University (ANU), and has experience working in hospitals across Canberra Health Services, as well as in community-based settings including in ACT Education, ANU e-therapy clinic, and ACT Pain Centre.
Please note, Brigette does not provide assessments for neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., ADHD, ASD) and does not provide capacity assessments for accessing medical gender-affirming care. Brigette also does not provide forensic assessments (e.g., court-ordered Family Report under the Family Law Act, parenting capacity assessment, recommendations regarding parenting arrangements and/or custody such as in context of Children's Court ACT matters).
