Jo has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She has worked in a variety of settings including hospital, non-government, government, education and private practice.

Jo currently works therapeutically with adolescents, young people and adults who are experiencing mental health difficulties. She has a special interest in eating disorders and is passionate about supporting individuals to overcome eating, body image and weight concerns and reducing the impact these have on an individual’s life. Jo is experienced when using Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT-E) for eating disorders with adults and adolescents and has completed additional training in this area.  

Jo is also experienced when working with a number of mental health presentations including, anxiety, depression, trauma, perfectionism, work stress, adjustment issues, school problems, addictions, emotional and behavioural issues, ADHD and relationship difficulties. She draws on a variety of therapeutic modalities including Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interview (MI). Jo works with clients to individualise treatment and is committed to supporting clients to move towards their goals.

Jo’s therapeutic approach is warm and compassionate. Her focus is on building a strong therapeutic rapport and drawing on client’s strengths to support individual goals. She thoroughly enjoys working with people of all ages and endeavours to create an environment that is safe, relaxed and judgement free!

Jo is experienced when conducting assessments for ADHD and Specific Learning Disorders. Currently she is not conducting assessments, although is able to support individuals to understand and implement adjustments and has extensive knowledge and experience with education systems. Jo currently works part-time at Hawker college as a school psychologist as well as in Private Practice. She would not be able to see any students who attend Hawker College. 

Jo is Board Approved Supervisor and currently has some availability to provide supervision for provisional psychologists and clinical registrars.

When not working Jo enjoys spending time with her young family, pug and cat and loves being by the ocean. She also enjoys yoga, running, live music and travelling to warmer locations.
