Lisa is a Registered Psychologist with a PhD in mental health.

She has a diverse work background and broad life experience that has given her a valuable understanding of various issues and contexts. She has worked in the Australian Public Service, in private enterprise including legal, medical and personnel organisations, as an officer in the Australian Federal Police, and as an Academic Researcher in the field of mental health after completing a PhD on the nature of stigma about depression and its impact on help-seeking.

As a psychologist, Lisa has worked in a variety of community settings including the ACT Health Alcohol and Drug Service and ACT Health Older Persons Mental Health Community Team, and in private enterprise providing Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services. This has involved providing therapeutic assistance to people facing crises and challenges in the workplace and their personal lives, experiencing a broad range of emotional and behavioural issues including anxiety and depression. She has worked in services providing individual and group therapy to people experiencing addiction to alcohol and drugs, including assisting highly-functioning people towards their goals of substance reduction or abstinence. Lisa’s work with older adults (>65 years) in the community has included managing mental health needs in the context of age-related conditions such as dementia and broad grief and loss. Lisa’s experience as a provider of EAP services has included providing psychological support for critical incidents, counselling for personal and workplace issues, and wellbeing enhancement for clients seeking to achieve their full potential.

Lisa is passionate about holistic wellbeing and improving personal and occupational functioning. She takes a down-to-earth, collaborative, non-judgemental and flexible approach focused on the individual’s goals and needs. She assists clients using a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing (MI), with an emphasis on values and strengths-based approaches.

Lisa provides counselling services to individual adults on Fridays.

Lisa is a Registered Provider of Medicare clinical psychological therapy services. Accordingly, clients will be eligible to obtain a rebate from Medicare or their health insurance provider, where applicable.
